This evening I wandered down the steps after tucking in Thomas & Philip to find little tiny pieces of paper all over my office chair. I noticed on one a bank routing number. Then I found on the floor one larger piece of what was once a check from one of my Pampered Chef Customers. AHHHH! Nathan had taken a pair of scissors and cut it to bits. The largest piece still recognizable had the amount and 1/2 the signature of my customer on it. I had to humbly write her a letter explaining why a small piece of her check was enclosed with a request for a new check. I did send her a self addressed stamped envelope too since it isn't right for her to have to pay to mail me a new check.

So the answer to my equation this evening was: Scissors + Nathan = Finely Cut Check!

Lesson learned!! Put all important documents HIGH so little hands cannot find them and practice their cutting on them!!

Shirley, I have my own equation. 3 kids+ 1 parent=chaos. Of course the kids number would be higher for you but that was just my equation. Benjamin broke my toaster yesterday. He just opened up a cupboard and pulled it right out. I used to think I had some semblance of control but now I have more than two kids or maybe it is the boy anyway I empathize with you.

I think more kids than parents is always part of the challenge. Ad to that 5 boys and and I have a house of Dennis the Mennice X5! Having sons is a challenge in itself. When you think about how and why God created MAN it is a huge responsibility for us mom's to seek to be a "Timothy Mother"! Our boys are so...... BOY, yet we desire to see them grow to be men after God's own heart. Channeling that energy, curiosity, and need for gross motor expression is a challenge! Phil and I joke around that we will hand each of the boys a bill when they turn 18 for all the things they broke over the years! :-) I keep wondering when it will get easier then I think about the teen years and for now, I'm thankful for the broken glasses and banged up trim!

On the other hand, if you need some sensitive documents shredded, I'm sure Nathan would be happy to take care of that for you! :-) -Jenni
